The next step in Foundation 1 is about the afternoon and evening routine. This routine is key to helping your baby understand that the day is coming to an end and night-time is on its way. Hear about how the Sleep-Feed-Uptime Cycle changes in the afternoon and the steps you can take to help your baby prepare for their night-time sleep.

The afternoon and evening can be the time of the day when some babies experience a 'Witching Hour' or a period of unsettled behaviour. We've got lots of helpful information in our FAQ section on the Witching Hour including what it is, what causes it and some tips on how to manage it.

Having a baby isn't easy and it's common to feel overwhelmed, vulnerable and in need of help and support.

You don't need to feel like you're in this alone. Whether it's more support with your baby's sleep, assistance with feeding or some extra help for you or your partner, we encourage you to reach out to family, your doctor or one of the many support organisations and services for new and expecting parents and carers.
